General Project Fund

Federal Tax laws restrict tax deductible donations to be used for educational purposes only. Donations to the ISU Foundation are generally tax deductible, therefore those funds are restricted for educational purposes. With the assistance of legal professionals, our house is determined to be approximately 50% educational space, and 50% what would be considered “Shared Use” space. Thus, on any given project for “Shared Use” space, we must supply the funds to support 50% of the project. Those essentially come out of the General Project Fund.

Donations to our General Project Fund are not tax deductible, but with recent tax laws - many people find themselves unable to take advantage of tax deductible charitable donations like they once could. Many others have the financial means of being able to support Beta Sigma Psi without a deduction independent of their tax situation. We ask that those that are able support us in this way.

The chapter house is aging and we are finding it needs maintenance projects done to many of the “Shared Use” parts of the house. In recent years, projects such as 2020 Roof Replacement, 2022 Dining Room Wall Water Damage Repair, 2023 Tuck Pointing and 2023-2024 Deck Stair Repair are all projects that used considerable resources from our General Project Fund.

If you are able to give to our General Fund, there are two convenient means of doing so.
